Chantelle Butterfield

Hi, I'm Chantelle Butterfield, I'm a mother, wife, dog owner, animal lover, vegan, entrepreneur, principal decorator of Funktional space,  a traveler, a sister, auntie, godmother, gardener, foodie, artist, and a yogi.  I'm loving life and living it as ahimsa "non-harming" as I can!  I first found yoga after our son was born, almost 20 years ago. As a kitchen designer with lots of math in my head, I wanted time for me, so I could be a better mom and person.  I didn't plan on teaching until we retired and became gypsies. Hubby and I are renovating a vintage Airstream and our plan is to travel and see the world, nice and slow and in comfort.  Didn't realize how much gas it would take to move that yacht around, so we might be downsizing to something more environmentally friendly after we finish her. We've been married 26 years (2019)  We share our home with our son and our little dog and if you haven't heard of Tika yet, we may not have met outside of the studio yet :))  I'm working on art for a tee shirt company I want to start,  I'm working on a few acrylic paintings, have been taking notes for a couple of books I want to write and am always attending yoga classes, reading and studying to become the best teacher I can be, for you and for me.  I love the yoga community and often find myself in deep, wonderful, colourful conversations with like-minded people. Yoga for me is strength, inside and out, on and off the mat, breath, wisdom, friends, meditations, sound, health, healing, reflecting, balance, awareness, karma, and movement. I believe it's called a practice because it's never meant to be perfect, with new beginnings each and every time we step on our mats. I look forward to what we can share together and learn from each other.

Alan Korejbo

I have 30 years of experience in Shotokan karate and am the Chief Instructor of Traditional Karate Saskatoon, a non-profit martial arts organization. I enjoy sharing my spirit and enthusiasm for the martial arts and focusing on the technical, philosophical, and psychological aspects of Traditional Shotokan Karate. I excel in dissecting and teaching martial arts and self-defence tactics so that the student effectively learns to execute martial arts technique. I follow the philosophy of traditional karate in my teaching, which focuses on the martial arts concept of budo. Budo reaches beyond technique and incorporates spiritual, moral and ethical self-improvement. I was awarded my San (third) Dan in traditional Shotokan karate (JKA International) some years ago, and have been privileged to have been able to train with some of North America’s most prestigious traditional karate masters.
